Norma J. Dunbar, 89, of Peoria passed away at 4:05 am Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Lutheran Hillside Village.
She was born July 7, 1927 in Lincoln, IL the daughter of Charles and Ella Huff Hoagland. She married Walter Dunbar in Peoria on February 24, 1946.
Norma is survived by her husband of 70 years; one daughter, Nancy (John) Snarr of Dunlap; three sons, Alvin (Jolene) Dunbar of Elmwood, Walter (Cherie) Dunbar of Glasford, and Robert Dunbar of Peoria; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two...

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; two sisters; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Smith.
Norma graduated I.C.C. as an LPN.
She enjoyed traveling with friends, and attending Army-Air Force reunions. Norma and Walter also lived in Milwaukee, Davenport, Iowa and Glasgow, Scotland because of Caterpillar assignments. Her greatest joy was her family.
Norma was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mount Hawley Country Club, and Methodist Service League.
Graveside services will be at 2:30pm Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
