Luella M. Dixon, 87, of Peoria, Illinois, died Thursday, March 26, 2015 at her residence. She was born in 1927, Peoria, Illinois to David and Anna Marie Block Tracey. She married Donald R. Dixon in 1946, Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 2002, Peoria, Illinois. She was also preceded by one granddaughter, Andrea Delotis and two brothers, Charles and Robert Tracey.
Surviving are three children, Linda (Grant) Barton of Morton, Illinois, James (Kathy) Dixon of Dunlap, Illinois and Janet (Tony) Delotis of Peoria, Illinois. She has six grandchildren, Lindsay Franklin, Leslie Wenzel, Leisa...

Surviving are three children, Linda (Grant) Barton of Morton, Illinois, James (Kathy) Dixon of Dunlap, Illinois and Janet (Tony) Delotis of Peoria, Illinois. She has six grandchildren, Lindsay Franklin, Leslie Wenzel, Leisa Rumshas, Jamie Dixon, Stacey Dixon and Chelsea Delotis; five great grandchildren. She has one brother, David Tracey of Illinois and one sister, Charlene(Charles) Diehl of Kentucky.
Luella loved Big Band music and loved dancing at the Ingletera in Peoria. She and her husband traveled to Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, a driving tour of the west coast of the United States. They enjoyed Hawaii, and also traveled the east coast enjoying Washington D.C., several cruises and trips to Yellowstone National Park, Florida and Wisconsin Dells. She enjoyed golfing, was on bowling leagues, and had several card clubs with friends over the years. She enjoyed sewing, baking and enjoying her grandchildren reading stories, overnight stays and Christmas. Luella was very proud of her family and told friends of their achievements.
Thank you to Proctor Place and especially the staff on Shepherd's Way. The love and care given to Luella was greatly appreciated by the family.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. The Rev. Lori Harvey will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 AM until 11 AM on Tuesday at the Davison Fulton Woolsey Wilton Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Proctor Place, TAPS, PAWS or to the donor's choice.
